The racist murder of Gurdip Singh Chaggar on 4 June 1976, and the formation of the Southall Youth Movement, marked a seminal moment in the struggle against racism — galvanising Asian young people across Britain to organise, resist, and defend their communities.

TMG - The Monitoring Group
Monitoring Group is a grassroots organisation with over 40 years of experience dedicated to combating racial discrimination and racially motivated hate crimes. Their work encompasses daily representation and advocacy for affected individuals, conducting research and data collection projects, community organising, and initiating public interest campaigns.
They have participated in legal forums such as the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and the Undercover Police Inquiry to address institutional racism and neglect within public bodies. Since its inception, The Monitoring Group has been a leading voice for family-led empowerment and justice campaigns in the UK, assisting hundreds of families, including those of Blair Peach, Kuldip Sekhon, Stephen Lawrence, Ricky Reel, Michael Menson, Zahid Mubarak, Victoria Climbié, Mi Gao Chen, and Christopher Kapessa.
These campaigns have led to public judicial inquiries and consequent changes in legislation and social practices, transforming modern Britain.

The Asian Health Agency is a non-profit making charity set up in 1994. It is dedicated to delivering high guilty holistic health & social care services. Community empowerment & strategic alliances with voluntary private & public sectors to address discrimination & one inequalities.

The Asian Women Network
TAWN was originally set up in the 1990s to tackle the issues affecting Asian women in and around the West London area particularly Southall and Hounslow.
TAWN worked in partnership with a number of local organizations including Asian Women’s Refuge and The Asian Health Agency and was primarily involved in the setting up a of a Women’s Refuge in Hounslow, a Helpline for Women suffering Domestic Violence and experiencing mental health problems and a volunteer run Advice Helpline.
TAWN hass also been involved in running a series of seminars on the theme Or Women 4Change in partnership with TAHA across numerous London boroughs to create
Awareness of the key issues affecting Asian women and coordinating a volunteer mentoring- and support network for Asian women working in these sector
TAWN is currently working to bring together and connect professional women and women community volunteers engaged in different sectors to collectively work on a number of activities including:
A project to create awareness of Asian women and mental health and wellbeing which will include producing a short video film
A Volunteer run Helpline to support Asian women experiencing DV, mental health or simply needing a listening ear, advice, support etc.
